"Thompson Poplett and wife first settled in Kentucky, living there eight years, then moved to Indiana, residing there seven years. They then moved to Tazewell County, Illinois, living there only a short time, when they moved to Knox County and purchased a farm near Old Henderson.

BIOGRAPHY: After the loss of his wife and two children, he moved to Peoria County, Illinois sometime in the forties, purchasing a farm on the Mt. Hawley road seven miles north of Peoria where he resided until his death. He became blind a few years before his death due to cataracts.
