    Mr. Charlie M. Howell, 88, of Vowells Mill, died on Wednesday, May 29, at6:50 a.m., in Natchitoches, after an extended illness. Funeral serviceswere held on Thursday, May 30, at 3 p.m., at the New Cedron Church, nearVowells Mill. Burial was in the Becky Murry Cemetery. His grandsonsserved as pallbearers.

    Survivors include two sons, Johnson Howell of Vowells Mill, and ErnestHowell of Bloomington, Tex.; four daughters, Mrs. Elle Craig, and Mrs.Mae Parker, both of Vowells Mill, and Mrs. Bernice Chism, and Miss JoyceHowell, both of Houston; fifteen grandchildren, and thirteen greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
