Funeral services for Mr. Woodrow Slaughter were held Thursday, September3, 1992, at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home,with Elder Luther Despino officiating. Burial followed in the New CedronCemetery in Vowells Mill.
Mr. Slaughter, 74, of Vowells Mill died Wednesday, September 2, 1992, at3:15 a.m., in the V.A. Medical Center in Shreveport.
He was a native of Vowells Mills, a WWII Army veteran, a retired farmer,and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys W. Slaughter of Vowells Mill; foursons, Steve Slaughter of Bossier City, Lovell Slaughter of Vowels Mill,Raymon Slaughter, and Herman Slaughter, both of Provencal; one stepdaughter, Linda Steele of Calvin; one brother, Taft Slaughter of Many; 16grandchildren; and three

Mrs. Rosie Oxley of Hornbeck, 62, died in Many at 9 a.m., following anextended illness, on April 11.
She is survived by five sons, John, and Woodrow Slaughter, both ofRobeline, Riley Slaughter of Winnfield, Taft, and T. L. Slaughter, bothof Hornbeck; two daughters, Mrs. Lovie S. Rogers, and Mrs. Golda Mae S.Stroud, both of Many, two brothers, ?, and Joe Masters, both of Many; asister, Mrs. Lizzie Dowden of Leesville, 23 grandchildren, 38great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 12, in PlainviewBaptist Church, with the Rev. A. J. Dupree, and the Rev. Huey Haymonofficiating. Burial was in Beulah Cemetery, under the direction of
Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.Children:
