Notes:
Was a mechanic, physician and politician. He was in the convention to amend the State Constitution in 1835 as Senator from Orange County in the legislature for ten years, and served six years in Congress from Raleigh District.
Having spent sixteen years of the prime of his life in politics, he declined re-election and died of pneumonia on 27 Nov 1843 at the age of fifty-four.
International Genealogical Index shows a son by the name of Daniel Albright Montgomery born 1830. This cannot be confirmed. It appears the entrant has the first name of No.3 child and the middle name of No.4 child combined into an erroneous person.
