    Charles Montgomery is thought to be the same person as J.M.C.Montgomery. He joined the Gilgal Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa County 12 Dec 1829. Land records show him as J.M.C./Charles and James. Charles's great grandson is reported to have been Robert Montgomery and copies of family papers are supposed to be at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.
