    Source DAR NO. 710723, Served as a Sergeant in Capt. Beattie's Company of the Virginia Line in the Battle of King's Mountain. He also served as a private horseman in the militia in 1780-81.

    Documentation is not conclusive that this Alexander was the son of John and Esther Houston Montgomery according to Erik Montgomery, CMS 219, Apr. 1993.
