Graduated from the General Theological Seminary, New York in 1843, and was ordained to the ministry of the Protestant Episcopal Church the same year; was Rector of All Saints Church, Philadelphia 1846-55; Church of the Incarnation 1855-74; recieved a DD from his alma mater in 1863; was a Vice President of the New York Missionary Society, and a manager of various religious and benevolent insdtitutions.
