  REF: FAMILY OF MONTGOMERY by Thomas Harison Montgomery pub. 1863 p. 67 refers to a second son of Sir Neil and Lady Jean Lyle. This second son was father of a son, a Major killed at the battle of the Boyne in 1690. This major was father of a son also a Major said to be of Grangesheugh who married a daughter of Sir William Dunbar of Mochrum and was wounded at the battle of the Boyne. He was father of Ann who marries Major Gordon of the Dragoons.
