    • Ref.: Erick M. Pg 29. At the age of 15 he was captured by Shawnee Indians and carried north from the settlement in Blount County. He escaped in one year, his father was killed, his mother held captive for seven years, and a sister killed. He commanded a company from Franklin County during the Creek War.
