As reported in the CMSI News Magazine, The Gardien, Spring 2006 edition: "...Mr. Montgomery was CMSI number 5, and ...was a founding member of Clan Montgomery Society...had a great interest in genealogy which he began early in life. The following is an obituary published in the Springfield (Mass.) Republican on March 8, 2006: ...John Robert. Montgomery, 86, of Bogan Rd. (Monson), died March 5th at Wing Hospital. Born in Springfield (Mass.), Mr. Montgomery grew up in Windsor Locks, CT, and was a 26 year resident of Monson. He graduated in 1941 from Yale University in Chemical Engineering... He leaves his wife, the former Valerie Van Nostrand; his brother, Hugh of Washington, D.C.; three children: Tom..., Meredith Charreyton..., Jock...four step-children...as well as 13 grandchildren.
