  When her first husband, William Henry Sharp, died in Arkansas on the way to Oklahoma, Margaret drove the horses and wagon on to Oklahoma with the children "Maude Bell, Bertha, Hazel, Fred and Carl". She married William Thomas Montgomery in 1908, a son Orvile was born in 1909. Margaret's mother, Aganes, was 1/2 Cherokee Indian, but her father wouldn't let her admit it.
