Montgomery of Atlanta GA. !DEATH-BIOGRAPHY: 9/6/79 - Telecon with Wilma Hedge: She obtained a copy of bible records from Roxie Hill, a descendant of Nancy Montgomery Hill, which shows the date of death for Thomas and his two sons. She thinks the date was in 1862. She will send a copy. 02/04/92 - New Family Group Sheet from Wilma shows death date as 15 Apr 1862 in Arkansas and quotes source as Roxy Hill's bible from her grandmother, Nancy Montgomery Hill. !ACTION: Follow up with Wilma Hedge to get bible record mentioned above. !CENSUS-RESIDENCE: 1810 - 1820 - 1830 - Blount Co. Tennessee 1840 - 1850 - Hilburn Township, Madison Co., Arkansas 1860 - Richland Township, Washington Co., Arkansas ACTION: Complete census records. Look in Virginia or Pennsylvania in 1840, or maybe in western TN or in AL. COMMENT: Per Wilma Hedge, Thomas had a brother or cousin, Joseph J. Montgomery, born in Virginia in 1799, who went to San Saba, Texas. She says Mrs. Avery of Memphis is a descendant of this branch of the family. This family is detailed in Chapter 7 of a book by Mrs. Marian Carter Ledgerwood that is in the Clayton Genealogical Library (GEN 929.2 L473), Houston TX.
