  • Notes 
    • Great Aunt Jerusha was proud to be a Loyalist pioneer family. She saved many mementoes of attending Loyalist balls in Toronto. She also saved a newpaper clipping about her uncle, John Montgomery. It is said she was proud of his spirit to make reformations in Canada with McKensie.

      She was source who said Gen Richard A. Montgomery was great uncle for whom her father was named by Alexander Jr. who was about the same age and could well have been brother of Richard A. Montgomery. Uncle Dick was also named after the General.

      Aunt Jerusha is quoted in an article, December 7, 1934 when she was said to be in her 82nd year would have been born in 1852. Her Uncle John of whom the article about the "Famous Montgomery" in rebellion of 1837 was born in 1784 so he would have been 53 years old at time of the Rebellion and when telling about it to Aunt Jerusha, he could have been over 70 years old. Since many Montgomeries are said to have lived to be even older than Aunt Jerusha, it would not be surprising that he was still a very active older man.
