Pete McClanahan owned land on the Hunt-Collin County line for many years from the mid 1860s. He is listed as a founding member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church at Pike, TX, in 1866, with his wife and several other family members.
He is listed as a lot owner in Celeste in 1902. According to his grandaughter Ruby Oatman, Pete, Mary, Veola & family moved to Archer Co. about 1908, then to Young County. Mary's pension records based on Pete's "special duty" Confed. service state he hauled ammunition from El Paso to Bonahm, etc. 1862-1865.
