BIOGRAPHY: Peter and Polly "moved into Tuckaleechee about[sic] the settlers. He had to
get out, being warned by an Indian chief who had sat upon a bluff north of his location for several days . . . who said 'get safe Indian much mad.' He went away, but some afterwards moved back, and his son Mose Snider was the first white child born in Tuckaleechee Cove."--Parham. According to McCown & Burns, Peter served as a private under Capt. Nathaniel Evans in Col. John Sevier's Etowah Campaign of 1793 and also in the War of 1812 as a spy.
