  From Flowers of the Forest, Winter 2008 edition: "One of the pioneers of Clan Montgomery Society has passed away. Barbara Jean Montgomery, 85, died August 2, 2007 at Wesley Towers Hester Care Center in Hutchinson, Kansas. She and her husband Bill Montgomery served as Western Regional VPs for Clan Montgomery for a number of years. Barbara was born May 16, k1922 in Sterling, Kansas. Her father and mother were Robert LeRoy and Ruth Jane Russell Ball...On January 12, 1946 she married William Joseph "Bill" Montgomery in Garden City, Kansas. Barbara and Bill resided in Phoenix, Arizona for 27 years... Barbara and Bill moved back to the Hutchinson area in 2003 to be near family...Pastor Loren Mai presided at a graveside service in Leavenworth National VA Cemetery."
