• Notes

  Received AB degree from Wofford College, Spartanburg, SC in 1875. Practiced law in Marion, SC until his death. Organized the Merchants & Farmers Bank of Marion and was the president of that institution and it successor Farmers & Merchants Bank until his death. Was a member of the House of Representatives from Marion Cty 1882-1883 and also in 1898-1899. He was a Senator from Marion Cty from 1908 to 1912 and was president pro tem of the Senate. Was a member of the SC Constitutional Convention in 1895 and was at one time president of the SC Bankers Assoc.
