- Benjamin was the son of Andrew Montgomery who was born in Tenn on 3 March 1816.
A note in my file, source not known at this time, says that he was named after Andrew Jackson. Andrew and his wife Malinda Fiscka, born 15 Dec 1825 in Alabama, had 10 children according to the 1870 Census, Aug. 1870, Fannin Co., Texas (page 46). Andrew died 21 Apr 1874 and is buried at the Whitewright Cemetery. Malinda died 2 Feb. 1901. The 1870 census of Andrew is in Fannin County, page 46, Prec. #2, Bonham post office,family 298, His neighbors were Joseph and Kit Sears. Not sure where this family fits in.
