"Sadly, it was announced that Dr. David Lloyd Montgomery, CMSI # 647, passed away suddenly on November 4, 2004. Dr. Montgomery was the author of "Our Roxborough Connection", which was translated into PAF for the CMSI database by George E. Montgomery.
Dr. Montgomery was a renowned exercise physiologist and the first director of the McGill University Seagram's Sports Science Center, which conducts physiological testing of elite athletes, including the Montreal Canadiens hockey team. He had been a professor for the past 30 years in the department of kinesiology and physical education at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He was an avid runner and competed in many triathlon events.
Born January 1, 1948 in Iroquois, Ontario, Professor Montgomery played varsity football at the University of Guelph, graduating in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree. It was at Purdue University where he coached hockey and earned both a Master's degree and a Doctorate degree in physical education. He joined the faculty at McGill in 1974 where he earned a Level 5 coaching certification in hockey....
