  . Per e-mail from neice, Constance Backers, Eugene was 2 1/2 years old when he died from the 1918 influenza epidemic. She said he died a "couple of days" after his parents. Buried beside his parents at Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth, Ohio.
