Per Lelia Cox in Dec. 1978, Wm.W. Matthews committed suicide. B. Per Grace Montgomery on 7/19/79, Wm.W. Matthews was shot by his wife Mary as he boarded a train. (She later changed this story.) C. Per Grace Montgomery on 12/25/79, Mildred Cummings told her a different version of the story: Wm. and his wife, Marie Crowley, were separated, and Marie was staying at her father's house in Ft.Worth. William went to the house to see his child. They would not let him come in, so he shot and killed Marie's father, tried to kill Marie, and then shot himself. !ACTION: Need to check the newspaper files for this date and see if there is a write-up to confirm details.
