      Researcher: John C. Montgomery, 1603 Chateau Dr. Atlanta, Ga. 30338, phone No.
      404-396-6374 maintains the clan Montgomery database in Atlanta. Has PAF. He is
      a desc. of David Montgomery. Contacted me (Harold Coffman) by phone on 13 July 1994. Son lives
      here in Dallas.

      !RELATIONSHIP: Will of Thomas Montgomery dated 13 Apr. 1827 and recorded in
      Blount County, TN designates son, John P. Montgomery, as co-executor and leaves
      property to other children including this person.

      BIRTH-DEATH-RESIDENCE: Family Group Sheet compiled by Wilma Montgomery
      Hedge, with information from Mable Clayson, says William received a land
      grant in Texas in 1830 at Plantersville; in Grimes Co. near Navasota in
      Southeast Texas. This information apparently came from pg 446 of the book JOHN
      & ESTHER HOUSTON MONTGOMERY 1719-1973, published 1974 by family members.

      However, the HISTORY OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY, by Robin Montgomery says on pgs.
      99-100 that the Texan William was born in S.C., son of John Montgomery Jr., and
      was a cousin of another William. The confusion was caused because both
      Williams were close in age (perhaps 10 years difference), both lived in Blount
      County, TN, they married sisters, Polly & Phebe James, and both families moved
      together to Alabama. However, a bible record of yet another William Montgomery,
      apparently proves that he was the son of Thomas Montgomery (See notes for
      Thomas Montgomery.) and the brother of David, Samuel, John Patton and George W.
      Montgomery. This bible record is the basis for the birth date shown. Earlier
      records from Wilma Hedge showed a birth date of 1772.
