  !BIRTH-MARRIAGE: "Thomas Powell..." Nickname "Buddie"..He spent most ofhis early days working on a farm. He looked after the farm help and reallyseemed to enjoy anything connected with farming. When he reached his majority his father gave him a farm. (He was baptized at the Black Creek BaptistChurch. Later after he had joined the Harmony Grove Baptist Church he became moreand more interested in becoming a preacher.
