!DEATH: N.C.....David died at his home while a doctor was attempting to
surgically remove a tumor from his chest. Both he and his wife areburied in
Pine Level Methodist Church Cemetery in Macon County, GA.
David was born near the community of Tazewell in Marion, GA. On 10 May1862,
David went off to the Civil War with Co B, (Schley County rifles), 46th
Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Tennessee. This companyfought
in battles in Mississippi in 1862 and 1863, Battle of Chickamauga, GA inJune
1864, Battle of Atlanta, in July-August 1864 and on through TN and NC inthe
latter part of 1864 and the early part of 1865. David along with hisregiment
surrendered to the Union Armies in Greensboro, NC on April 26, 1865.
Davie returned to Marion, GA after the war and continued in farming. He,with
all of his children, moved from Marion to Macon County, GA sometimearound 1885
and continued farming.
