Louisiana on Sept. 27, 1971; Jo Wilson Miller Graves of the Joseph Sigon(?)
chapter in Paris, Texas on November 30, 1946; Mary Miller Welch of theJane
Lampton chapter of Columbia, Kentucky on Sept. 18, 1940; Ann CochranMiller
(Hanson) of the Jane Lampton chapter of Columbia, Kentucky on May 26,1943.
Joseph Miller II was a private in the Copntinental Army, RevolutionartWar; he
was enlisted by Liteutenant Mallery of the Eleventh Virginia Regiment,under
the command of Colonel Abraham Buford. A part of the time he served under
Captain Matthew Arbuckle and Colonel Campbel. His name was among thosedrafted
for regular service in Ohio County, Virginia, 1778. Enlisted May 1,1778, on
file Adjutant's Office, Washington, D.C. (Also on undated list in same
office.) The Pension Department says he enlisted from Botetout County,
Virginia. He served 28 monthe and was at Valley Forge. He madeapplication
for pension November 8, 1832, in Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky, asshown by
the Adair County court Book "E", on page 386.
