  Submitted by C.Lane Graves, CMS 1778, dated 10/28/00. Entered 10/6/01. Per an email dated 22 Feb 2005 from Ed Barkley, great-grandson of John Calvin Montgomery, this person's name was Emily Menefee, born 3/25/1845-1839 in Arkansas, married 1862 (first wife), died in 1867 from "the fever" while going from Arkansas to Texas. Three girls were born of this marriage, but all died with their mother from "the fever." These girls were attributed by Lane Graves to another wife, Emily Williams. Barkley also claims that the two boys attributed to Emma H./Emily Menefee were actually born to a different wife, Emily Williams.
