Obituary from The Smyrna Times, Wednesday, April 1, 1931:
"Mrs. Esther C. Wright, Widow of Eben Wright of Kenton, Passes Away
in Her 88th Year of Age...
Mrs. Esther C. Wright, widow of the late Eben Wright of Kenton, died last
Tuesday evening at the home of her son, Winbert C. Wright near Downs'
Chapel, at the age of 88 years and seven months. She had been in failing
health for some time. Mrs. Wright was the daughter of the late Adam and
Elizabeth Dady of Smyrna, also a sister of the late Mrs. Mary E. Taylor
of Smyrna (wife of George W. Taylor) who died about two years ago. She
was a member of Clayton M. P. Church for many years, and after moving to
Kenton vicinity was a member of the Kenton M. E. Church. A good woman,
she led an exempliary life and was endeared to a host of friends. She
was greatly esteemed as a wife, a mother, and in her church relations.
She is survived by two sons, Winbert C. Wright, of Kenton, and Herbert T.
Wright of Smyrna, also six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services were held Friday afternoon at Downs' Chapel M. P. Church, Rev.
J. W. Parris officiated, assisted by Rev. Wilson C. Moore, of Dover.
Interment was at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna."
