  • Notes
    • Smyrna Times - August 12, 1868 - Obituary: "This week we record the
death of an old citizen - Mr Dady. He was a resident of this town for
about twenty years; was remarkably industrious and frugal, dividing his
time between his shoe bench and his garden, (being a very successful
horticulturalist, ) and by honest labor in an humble way acquired a
little property that was the care of his declining years. Few men take
life more evenly than Mr. D. did. He was at the head of the little
society of Old School Baptists of this town and was an earnest member. He
claimed the ability to foretell the state of the weather, and invariably
predicted the number of snow storms that would fall each winter, but we
believe his predictions were rarely verified. Though excentric in his
views, no man could be possessed of a truer honest of purpose. He was
      born in Chester co., Pa."
Adam died in Smyrna, Delaware at the age of 75 years. He was buried in
      Bryn Zion Baptist Cemetery
      in Kenton, Delaware.
