  Elizabeth Montgomery, the 4th child of James Montgomery and his first wife, born ca. 1828 in Missouri. We have not been able to find much information about this 4th child. In the 1840 census of Wayne County, Missouri we find a daughter listed with the family of James (the mother apparently had died) but of course no names except the head of household. From Coker Montgomery came the information that this daughter was Elizabeth, called "Betsey", and that he married Huse Loyd. So looking in the 1850 census of Wayne County, Missouri we find Houston Loyd, wife Elizabeth, and one son Houston. So it appears that this daughter "Betsey" married Houston Loyd, who was possibly the son of Howell and Rachel Loyd. Huse Loyd was born ca. 1825. In the 1860 census a son named Houston Loyd is listed with Betsy and Huse Loyd. The son's age is 13, which would place his birth ca. 1847 in Missouri. No further information has been found on this son. From this one would believe they married ca. 1845. No record of their death is known, but Coker states that it is believed that Betsey is sthe daughter buried beside James Montgomery (1786).
