Notes - James Emmett Twidwell, youngest child of "Bud" and Cassie Jane Montgomery Twidwell, was taken to the home of his Uncle John Riley Twidwell, upon the death of his mother.
He lived there until his father re-married in 1896, when he returned to his father's home. He stayed there until he was about 14 years old, and went back to his Uncle John's.
"Jim" Twidwell died 11 April 1971 and is buried in the Tidwell Cemetery near Silva, Missouri. He was married 26 June 1910 to Rowena Matilda Jane Atnip, daughter of John Robert and Melissa Jane (Ownbey) Atnip. Rowena was born 20 November 1887 near where she now lives at Silva, Missouri. She will be 91 years old in November (1978).
"Jim" was by occupation a timberman. He owned and operated his own saw-mill, working for the Moss Tie Company, until he retired in 1942. Hen then purchased the olf farm of "Pink" White on Fraziers Creek near Silva, Missouri. At that time the old house where he was born was still standing. He was an honest, hard worker, and was one of the most wonderful father's that a child could have.
