Elbert Gass, Sabine, Vernon Parish, Sabine Index, Many, LA, Jan 15, 1992 Funeral services for Elbert Gass were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9,in the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Glen Flenniken, Rev.Kenneth Baggs, and Rev. James Skinner officiating. Burial followed in theFlorien Cemetery. Mr. Gass, 75, of Hornbeck, passed away Jan. 8, in the Byrd MemorialHospital. He was born in Hornbeck. He was on the Board of Directors forValley Electric for 28 years. He was an Alderman, and had served twoterms as Mayor of the City of Hornbeck. He was a member of the UnitedMethodist Church of Hornbeck, and was an Army/Air Corp. Veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife, Elma W. Gass of Hornbeck, LA; one son,Raymond Thomas Gass of Pasadena, Tex.; daughter, Evelyn J. Lucius,Florien, LA; sister, Pearl Ford of Beaumont, Texas, and seven grandchildren.
