Mr. Robert Eldred Stewart of Robeline, passed away at 9:55 p.m., Tuesday,Jan 1, 1985, at the Sabine Medical Center in Many. He was 71 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Stewart of Robeline; two sons,Raymond Stewart of Athens, Georgia, and Norman Stewart of Ft. Huschuca,Arizona; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Nippert of Orange, Calif., and Mrs.Lorraine Oxley of the Republic of Panama; 11 grandchildren; and threegreat grandchildren; three brothers, Redic Stewart, and Younger Stewartof Robeline, and James M. Stewart of Poteau, Oklahoma; six sisters, Mrs.Etna Howard of Florien, Mrs. Melvina Matthews, and Mrs. Lizzie BelleCarnline of Robeline, Mrs. Olivia Carnline, Mrs. Novis Lambert, and Mrs.Doris Faust of Many; one uncle, Clarence Stewart of Florien; and manynieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.
Mr. Stewart retired in Dec. 1977, from Tenneco, Inc., after 27 years ofservice. He was a member of Friendship Church of the Nazarene, where heserved on the Church Board for 36 years. For many years, he was songleader, and also sang solos, and was in quartets with his wife andsisters.
Funeral services for Mr. Stewart were held Saturday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m.,at Friendship Church of the Nazarene, with interment in the FriendshipCemetery. Officiating were Rev. Winston Lowe, Rev.
Gary Dupuy, and Rev. Mike Howard. Services were under the direction ofthe Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were nephews, Robert, and Philip Lambert, David, and GeorgeCarnline, Gerald Knippers, Harold Matthews, Odis Faust, and Brent Little.
