      Asa W. Skinner, Sabine Parish, Sabine Index, Many, La., Jun 9, 1961

      9 Jun 1961 - Funeral services were held June 5 at 4 p.m. at the Mt.Carmel Baptist church for Asa W. Skinner, 78, who passed away at theFraser sanitarium in Many on June 4.

      Rev. Artis Ricks, Rev. Earl Marr, and Dr. Kelly Fitzgerald officiated atthe rites and burial was in Mt. Carmel cemetery under the direction ofWarren Funeral home.

      The deceased was a native and life long resident of Sabine parish. He wasa retired farmer and deputy sheriff.

      He is survived by his wife Mrs. A. W. Skinner of Many, one son G. S.Skinner of Natchitoches, two daughters, Mrs. W. C. Alford and Mrs. C. C.Alford of Many, four grandchildren and two great
      grandchildren.

      Pallbearers were T. M. Phillips, Truitt Walden, Grover Wagley, EugeneDees, Hoy Leach, and Hoyt Lockwood.
