      Mrs. Hugh Simpson, Sabine Parish, Sabine Index, Many, LA, Aug 24, 1967

      Mrs. Hugh Simpson, 88, of Many, died Friday, Aug. 18, in Many, after alengthy illness.

      Funeral services were held at the Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev.H. H. Tibbitts, and the Rev. Olan Walters officiating, Saturday, Aug. 19.Burial was in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of WarrenMeadows Funeral Home of Many.

      Survivors include five sons, J. W. Simpson, G. H. Simpson, H. E. Simpson,and J. E. Simpson, all of Many, and A. E. Simpson of Shreveport; sixdaughters, Miss Clara Simpson, Mrs. Fred Flennigan, Mrs. J. W. Bush, andMrs. Edgar W. Mitchell, all of Many, Mrs. Lodie Adams of Jennings, andMrs. Beulah Mitchell of DeRidder; two brothers, Oscar Woodel of Ft.Jesup, and Robert Woodel of Many; a sister, Mrs. Julia Smith of Robeline;37 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

      The grandsons served as pallbearers.
