      George Gandy, 78, of Grayson, died Monday, Jan. 17, at 1:50 p.m., inColumbia, as the result of an automobile accident.

      Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m., in the MiddleCreek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Earl Marr officiating. Interment wasin the Middle Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Warren MeadowsFuneral Home.

      Survivors include two sons, Hoyt Gandy of Grayson, and Carl Gandy ofMonroe; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Self of Monroe, and Mrs. Geneva Neel ofShreveport; two brothers, Mack Gandy of Provencal, and Edward Gandy ofPineville; four sisters, Mrs. Della Speight, Many, Mrs. Penolia Cheeves,Alexandria, Mrs. Emma Miller, Texas, and Mrs. Verna Smith of Crossett,Ark.; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
