      John C. Slaughter, 59, of Many, died Sunday, Feb. 4, at 4:45 p.m.

      Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m., with the Rev.Willis Greer officiating, and the Rev. Buddy Greer assisting. Intermentwas in the Siloam Baptist Church, under the direction of Warren MeadowsFuneral Home.

      Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Vera Slaughter; two sons, Johnny A.Slaughter of Many, and Jerry L. Slaughter of Florien; one daughter, Mrs.Fredia Walker of Nederland, Tex., four brothers, Rikey Slaughter ofDodson, Taft, and Tevess Slaughter, both of Hornbeck, and WoodrowSlaughter of Robeline; two sisters, Mrs. Lovie Rogers, and Mrs. Golda MaeStroud, both of Many; and five grandchildren.
