Mrs. Barto Thaxton, Sabine Parish, Sabine Index, Many, LA, May 10, 1939 10 May 1939 - Last rites for Mrs. Barto Thaxton were held at Mt. Carmel1 p.m. last Friday, interment in the Mt. Carmel cemetery, Rev. J. H.Ricks and Rev. Kennedy officiating. Funeral directed by the Dennis-Greenfuneral home of Many. Surviving are the husband, Barto Thaxton, and seven children: Mrs. RufusCorley, Mrs. Carnandus W. Davis, Mrs. W. M. Teddell, all of Florien; Mrs.Luther Byrd, Kurthwood; Edith of Shreveport; Raydon and Don; also hermother, Mrs. A. M. Stewart of Florien, six brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Thaxton was a life-long resident of the Mt. Carmel community.
