22 Feb 1995 - Funeral services for Mavis Leach Dowden, 81, of Beaumontwere held at 10 a.m. Feb. 16, at Wesley United Methodist Church inBeaumont.
Graveside services followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Florien under thedirection of Broussard's Mortuary.
Mrs. Dowden was a native of Florien; Mrs. Dowden lived in Beaumont for 9years and was a retired school teacher.
Survivors include four sons, Dr. Bobby F. Dowden, Shreveport, Sammy LaneDowden of Lytle, TX, Dawson Ivy Dowden of Clarksville, Iowa, and LeamonVandy Dowden of Spring; one daughter, Elizabeth Dowden Wiggins ofBeaumont; one brother, Floyd Leach of Yaciatha, CA, thirteengrandchildren, and six
great grandchildren.
