      W. A. Ricks, 84, of Florien died Sept. 28, 2002, at Lake Charles MemorialHospital. He was an Army Veteran, and served in World War II.

      Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Sept. 30, at Mt. Carmel BaptistChurch, with interment following at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Dr. LarryDeLoach officiated.

      Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Marcantel and husband Wendell ofIowa; sister, Willie Mae Bolton of Peoria, Ill.; six grandchildren;several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

      He was preceded in death by his wife, Lovie Ricks; son, Wayne Ricks; anddaughter, Martha Sue Mason.
