Mrs. Sarah Lyles Stewart, Sabine Parish, Sabine Index, Many, LA, Dec 17,1943 17 Dec 1943 - Funeral rites for Mrs. Sarah Lyles Stewart, age 88 years,were held last Thursday at 11 o'clock at Mt. Carmel. Rev. A. D. Ashby ofBlanchard officiated, assisted by Rev. H. T. Young and Rev. Newcomb.Interment was in Mt. Carmel cemetery, Dennis-Green funeral home incharge. Pallbearers were grandsons, Monroe Skinner, Roy Skinner, VandyPentecost, Troy Thaxton, Leon Thaxton and Jeff Skinner. Surviving are six sons, Robert, Andy and Rollie of Robeline, Cleveland,Clarence and Claude of Florien; three daughters, Mrs. Bell Skinner, Mrs.Josie Pentecost and Mrs. R. Thaxton, Florien; 55 grandchildren, severalgreat-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Goodwin of Anacoco.Mrs. Stewart leaves 281 grand and great-great grandchildren and has 30descendents in military service.
