The Sabine Index - Barto Thaxton 21 May 1943 - Last rites for Barto Thaxton, age 69, were held at 10o'clock Tuesday morning at Mt. Carmel Baptist church. Rev. H. T. Youngofficiated. Interment was in Mt. Carmel cemetery, Dennis-Green funeralhome in charge. Surviving are wife, Mrs. Viola Thaxton; seven children, two sons, Raydonand Don of the U. S. Navy; five daughters, Mrs. R. P. Oxley, Mrs. LutherByrd, Mrs. C. D. Davis of Florien, Mrs. C. H. Thigpen of El Dorado, MrsWm. F. Thaxton of Columbas, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, C. T.Thaxton of Florien and C. H. Thaxton of Engleside, Texas; two sisters,Mrs. Amburg Ellzey, Mrs. Doss Dowden, and Mrs. Lizzie Tramel, Many.
