Poynter passed away Saturday, July 13, in Shreveport, at 11 a.m. Surviving relatives are one son, Phillip Poynter Sr. of Dallas, Tex.; onedaughter, Joyce Willard of Mesquite, Tex.; three sisters, Reba Wyatt ofFlorien, Evelyn Green of Bossier City, and Alice Griffith of Roslyn, PA;one brother, Gordon O. Cook of Many; 6 grandchildren; 4 greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Forrest Scott, Doug Marr, Tommy Cook, Jeff Green, andPhil Poynter Jr.
