      Services for Mr. Alfred Alvin Slay Sr., 67, of Shreveport, were held at 2p.m., Monday, Oct. 17, at First Baptist Church of Many. Officiating wasthe Rev. Joe Ratcliff, pastor of First Baptist Church of Many. Burial wasin the Many Cemetery in Many.

      Mr. Slay Sr., a native of Toro, LA, and resident of Shreveport for thepast 23 years, died at 12:59 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, 1983, at South ParkHospital, following a short illness. Mr. Slay Sr. was a sales manager forFrank Wholesale, a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Marine Veteran,WWII, and member of the V. F. W.

      Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lou Slay of Shreveport; two sons, DennisO. Bovett, and Alfred Alvin Slay Jr., of Shreveport; three daughters,Judy Anderson of Bossier City, Linda Lee, and Grace Hill of Shreveport;six sisters, Carrie Westbrook, Linda Pynes, Maude Thedford, Allie Sirman,Lee Wagley, and Louise Wagley, all of Many, LA; and five grandchildren;and numerous nieces and nephews.
