Mr. Ernest Edward Salter, 81, of Florien, died Wednesday, December 28,1983, at 6 a.m., in El Paso, Texas, while visiting his children there.
Funeral services for Mr. Salter were held in the Warren Meadows FuneralHome Chapel in Many, at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 31. Bro. JackPerkins, and Dr. George L. Higgins Jr. officiated. Masonic gravesideservices were conducted at the Many Cemetery.
A native of Negreet, Mr. Salter was a retired safety director for adrilling company, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of Harmony Lodge ofEunice.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Josie Salter of Florien; two daughters,Gennell Christian, Lake Charles, and Elizabeth Hay, El Paso, Tex.; twobrothers, Norman Salter, Lafayette, and Leon Salter, Shreveport; sixsisters, Mrs. Devonia Willard, Texarkana, Tex., Mrs. Leona Wright,Shreveport, Mrs. Thelma Davenport, DeRidder, Mrs. Ruth Lacour, DeRidder,Mrs. Exa Diebel, Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Juanita Edwards, Many; and fivegrandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Kirk Salter, Lee Darby Salter, Richard Salter,Doctor E. L. Edwards III, J. E. Salter, Jack W. Gardner, James E. Wright,and Richard Wright. Honorary pallbearers were J. A. Jordan, Jim Jordan,Donald Jordan, Rodney Jordan, Gerald Jordan, and William Jordan.
