      James Walter Treadway, 78, of Provencal, died in Leesville, Tuesday, July27, after an extended illness.

      Funeral services will be held in the Provencal Baptist Church today at 2p.m., with the Rev. Billy Burkett, and the Rev. Oliver Robertsofficiating. Burial will be in the Provencal Cemetery, under thedirection of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

      The body was taken to Provencal Baptist Church at 2:15 p.m., Wednesday,to lie in state until service time.

      The surviving relatives are three sons, Wilmer Loy Treadway of Provencal,James Walter Treadway Jr. of Westlake, and Herbert Clifton Treadway ofLeesville; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Wyatt of Provencal,
      and Mrs. Bernice Lord of Hornbeck; one brother, O. D. Treadway ofShreveport; 18 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

      The pallbearers will be his grandsons.
