      Mrs. Cassie Hardin Sumpter, 91, of Lake Charles, died Feb. 24, at 6:30a.m., after an extended illness.

      Surviving relatives are one son, Ray Sumpter of Lake Charles; twodaughters, Mrs. Jessie Smith of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Elaine DeVore ofMemphis, Tenn.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Vera Pendergrast of Alexandria;15 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren, and four great-greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lee of Many, and Minnie Jordan ofFlorien.

      Funeral services were held in the Warren Meadows Chapel, Saturday, Feb.26, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. T. V. Owens, and the Rev. Ray Raddinofficiating. Interment was in the Belmont Cemetery, under the directionof Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
