  Data submitted by Keith Alan Montgomery, CMS 2512, via GEDCOM attached to email dated 16 Jan 2007. Wayne County History 1878 by Douglass States that Doylestown in Chippewa Twp, Wayne Co., OH was laid out in 1827. The first log house was built by William Doyle, "the carpenter's work having been done by John Montgomery." The history further states that Doyle occupied the structure "for a tavern, sold whiskey, and permitted 'fantastic toe' excitements." Douglass lists Isaac Montgomery (either John's father or brother), William Doyle and Adam Shatto (John's fatherin-law) among the first settlers in Chippewa Township on the NE corner of Wayne County, Ohio. John Montgomery named his first son Doyle. In 1838, he settled land in Sullivan County, Missouri on the banks of Locust Creek. His log cabin remains. Montgomery Cemetery in Sullivan County
