BIOGRAPHY: Diane Lynch letter and excerpt from "ANCESTRAL STUDY OF FOUR
FAMILIES" by Emily G. Roberts.
James and Lucy both died the same day in the fall of 1835, in TN. soon after
they drank from a spring where they were camping. They were on their way home
from Pettis County, MO.
In Feb. 1836, his will was proven in Rowan Co. NC. He named his
wife, Lucy, and these children in this order: John, daughter Elizabeth
Swann, William, Daughter Polly Steelman, being wife of Josh Steelman,
daughter Patsy (Martha) Beaman, daughter Sarah Thomas, daughter Nancy Lovelace,
also Cinthia and Lydia Beaman, daughters of my daughter, Lucy Beaman. Exors:
Archibald Lovelace and Henry Thomas. He didn't mention his sons, Daniel and
James Jr. as he probably had already provided for them.

Book 16 pg 227: On Feb. 22 1797, Elias Lovelace of Iredell Co., NC,
lets James Holeman of Rowan Co., NC, have 250 acres in Rowan on Dutchmans Creek
next Jas. Whitlock, Wm. Holman, Wm Cook & Joseph Raynard for 150 pounds
witnessed by Thos. Prather & Joseph Ranard in May 1798.
James Holeman was made overseer on road from Rockford to Surry Line on August
12, 1809.

Book 25, pg 278: On Dec 20 1817, James Holeman gives his daughter, Lucinda
Beeman, a negro boy named Jack, witnessed and proved by Jack Cook in May term
of 1819.
James Holeman was made overseer on road from Rockford to Surry Line on 12
August 1809.
