Above book states "son of George Edkin, was a miller and cooper by trade, which occupation he followed until his death; he married Joanna Palmer, of New York City, and to them were born thriteen children: Catherine; Jane; Mary; Deborah; William; Susan; Sarah; Joanna; George; Martha; Eliza; one who died in infancy, and Elias; all are now deceased except Jane, Sarah, George, and Elias. Mr. Edkin died in the fall of 1843, followed by his widow one year later.
