  Submitted by Thelma Vivian Woods Henry, CMS 706. Joseph Montgomery is the oldest Montgomery ancestor that was entered into the database (see notes for merge done on 8/30/1997.) 8/30/97 - JCM merged RIN 3414 with RIN 6493, both Joseph Montgomery (1768-1842) because the dates and locations in both records were identical and all descendants for Joseph Montgomery as submitted by Thelma Henry were new to the file. This ties in to the previous submission from Betty Montgomery Slater, CMS 143. Betty's line was chosen because 1) the dates and locations for Joseph Montgomery were identical, down to the day, and 2) Betty's line contained all the same names for the ancestors of Joseph plus a couple of generations that Thelma's line omitted. The ancestors of Joseph as submitted by Thelma were deleted from the file; see original submission paperwork.
